Listen!

I am elsewhere, this body’s remote controlled.
I’m in another place steering this flesh best I can.
At the right hand of a God trying to drive this avatar.
This frail surrogate fails, but I keep it moving.

Call me crazy, but I am more.
Call me stupid, but I am brave.
Call me bound, but I am free.
Call me not, but I am.

I was chosen foolish, and weak.
I was preferred due to my lack.
I was appointed because I was poor.
I was delegated when broken.

This shell relays all sorts of signals.
Interpreting the messages is a chore.
Making sense of what matters difficult.
Vision is limited when not maintained.

Call me impoverished but I am rich.
Call me lost but I am found.
Call me a freak but I am clear.
Call me sad but I am sane.

I was chosen foolish, and weak.
I was preferred due to my lack.
I was appointed because I was poor.
I was delegated when broken.

Marching forward, this machine is so tired.
I’m piloting under fire and in the dark at times.
Forgive me I’m failing to stand still.
I’m on assignment, trudging through the valley.

Call me unfortunate, but I am blessed.
Call me crazy, but I am impassioned.
Call me injured, but I am whole.
Call me last, but I am first.

I was chosen foolish, and weak.
I was preferred due to my lack.
I was appointed because I was poor.
I was delegated when broken.

Ten thousand surround,
I cut them off.
Though he slay,
I trust.
Mountains fall into the sea
still I sing.

Listen! I am elsewhere.
